Calling all Street Survival Instructors and Wannabes!
The Annual Eagle County Tire Rack Street Survival School Needs YOU! Student Registrations are on track for another maximum capacity school. This year’s school will be held on 22 October at the Eagle County Regional Airport. We’ll need a minimum of 6 instructors to to lead the exercise groups and 4 staff to facilitate running the exercises.
Instructors are required to take a short on-line training presentation. The course is good for life” so if you’ve taken it in the past, you don’t need to take it again. The training can be found on the TRSS website. Go to http://www.streetsurvival.org and click on the “Become a Coach” link at the bottom of the home page to begin your training.
The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival program is a hands-on driving experience in real-world situations. The student’s drive their own cars to teach them about its particular handling limits and how they can control them.
Driving exercises similar to what you’d find at an autocross school follow classroom sessions that present basic vehicle control techniques, situational awareness and responsible behavior while behind the wheel. This is a driver safety school, not a high performance driving clinic. You do not need to be a “hot shoe” to be qualified to instruct. A basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, and a desire to help save teenage drivers’ lives is all that’s required.
Please email if you are available to instruct, or would like additional information about instructing.
CORRECTION!!! The Eagle County school is on SUNDAY, 21 October.
Shoulda looked at a calendar 🙁
Arnie, Count me in. I’ll email you as well.
