The RMSolo 2020 season is set to kickoff at PPIR on May 16-17, within certain parameters, of course.

Registration for the SS#1 is open now, and the SpeedTrain school will open soon:

SpeedTrain Autocross School: Saturday, May 16

Summer Series #1: Sunday, May 17

Important Note: Nearly all event operations will be impacted by the “Safer At Home” directives. SCCA has issued guidelines for event conduct that you should review here. In addition, the RMSolo team has been working hard to provide as safe an environment for our members as possible. That will require ALL of us to observe some new limitations, including:

    • Encourage all who feel any symptoms to stay home

    • Wipe down all equipment and work surfaces throughout the day

    • Provide hand sanitizer, permanent restrooms and wash stations

    • Require entrants to bring their own masks and gloves, and provide such as needed

    • Close events to all spectators; No one but drivers will be allowed

    • No loaner helmets

    • Transporting disinfected equipment in baggies

    • No handling of wristbands and waivers (more info on waivers to come)

    • Conduct drivers meetings via FM or PA

    • Supervised self-tech of cars

    • No common beverage coolers (we will not be providing lunch at the school)

    • Social distancing and physical contact restrictions must be observed

At this time, ridealongs at the SpeedTrain school will be optional. No instructor or student will be asked to agree to ridealongs if they prefer to abstain. Family members and teammates (codrivers or members who have prepped cars together) will be allowed to ridealong; Others may do so upon mutual agreement, and disinfecting procedures may apply.

The number of people in the Timing and Scoring Trailer will be strictly limited. Work surfaces will be decontaminated, and radios will be wiped down. Course setup workers will be required to wear gloves.

However we may feel about new restrictions, it is vitally important that we show respect to fellow members by doing everything possible to keep them, and yourselves, safe. It is just as important to realize that not adhering to these guidelines could jeopardize our program and/or our venues; If we exhibit unsafe behaviors, the event could possibly be shut down.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and I look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Very good, looking forward to both events. I have read the SCCA’s instructions too, the procedures seem like a hassle, but is 10000x better than sitting at home and starting at a car in the garage, so let’s do it!
